Habistat Heat Mat

Habistat Heat Mats are designed to give gentle heat the way the sun warms up reptiles' natural habitats.

In nature the sun heats up anything it hits, so items left in the sun are warmer to the touch than the air around them.

The Habistat Heat mats replicate this effect by sending out infra red heat.

This ultra long wavelength is invisible to the human eye and heats up furnishings in the terrarium rather than the air.

Reptiles absorb this in a manner very similar to basking in a natural environment.

Heat mats do get warm but provide a very gentle warmth which the reptile can sit under or on top of. Used under normal conditions the mats cannot burn the animal.

It should be noted that heat mats give a gentle background heat. If you are keeping animals that requires higher temperatures, then you may require additional supplemental heating.
