Help and advice on shopping for: Reptile Boxes

Transport and invertebrate housing

Our fantastic range of reptile boxes are ideal for transporting and showing off your reptile, separating them whilst breeding and even housing invertebrates. In our range, you’ll find a bunch of high-quality reptile boxes from leading brands like Exo Terra, Komodo and Lucky Reptile.

What are reptile boxes?

Made from a range of different materials, both transparent and coloured, reptile boxes are acrylic or plastic mini-terrariums. These boxes have a few different uses but they are generally good temporary housing for reptiles and amphibians or permanent housing for an invertebrate. The structures range from temporary display enclosures all the way up to substantial permanent homes.

Why should I buy reptile boxes?

Reptile boxes can be used for the transportation, breeding and display of reptiles. They are particularly good for showing friends and family a reptile that doesn’t like to be touched, such as a Dart Frog. Reptile boxes also make fantastic permanent enclosures for invertebrates, like spiders and centipedes, who require much less space than reptiles and amphibians.

What are the main types of reptile boxes?

Our reptile boxes are all quite different from each other and vary greatly in size. The biggest difference in the range is between the different building materials and the longevity of the boxes. Permanent enclosures for invertebrates are made from thicker plastics and even have built-in areas for lighting or heating elements in some areas. Temporary enclosures are not designed to hold hardware and are generally designed for short-term use.

What should I look for?

Before transporting a reptile or amphibian, you must understand exactly what they need to survive and how you can minimise their stress. We offer several products to help with reptile transport including snake hooks and temporary heating packs. If you’re planning to use an enclosure to permanently hold an invertebrate, do plenty of research to ensure that the invertebrate will have enough space in their new home and that it fulfils all their needs.
