Reptile Water Filters

Maintaining water quality will need regular intervention, but this doesn't have to be a difficult task. A weekly partial water change should suffice, but if your tank is particularly small then you may need to increase this to keep things in excellent condition. Turtles are great pets as they're relatively small, inexpensive to feed, quiet and easy to care for. However, they are also messy little creatures and produce a lot of waste.

Not only is it important to regularly change the water within your enclosure, but it's also a good idea to conduct regular water quality checks, using test kits to ensure that there are no hidden nasties lurking in the water causing problems.

There are certain things that you need to look out for when conducting these tests, with ammonia being one of the biggest problem causers, polluting the tank and causing trouble for your turtles. But with the help of a good quality water filter and regular water changes, ammonia and other invisible issues can be tackled early.
