The Reptile Systems Vit-A-Min D3 powder can be sprinkled on feeder insects or appropriate food products, helping to raise their nutritional content. This has added D3 included, meaning that it is ideal for species that don't get D3 from any other source, such as UV lighting. This is a complete multivitamin, containing added D3, and shouldn't be used for animals that already receive D3 in their diet.
Many reptiles' nutritional needs are not being met simply because of the captive diet we feed them. Insects bred in commercial feeder insect production, may be extremely good, but still lack the full nutrient profile of their wild-roaming counterparts. This is generally down to the soil nutrient quality and the vegetation that grows in it. Reptile Systems have been working on three food supplement products, including Calcium Ultra and Insect Food, to plug the gaps in the captive diet.
