Snake Lighting and Heating

The lighting set-up that is required in order for your snake to thrive will be dependent on its species. It's important to bear in mind that for most snakes species when kept as pets, artificial lighting is not a fundamental requirement. That said, lamps can be used a fantastic, additional option to improve the visual look of your enclosure. More importantly, a spot light or basking light can provide a great to regulate the heat within your snakes housing. In fact, you will often find that when snakes are exposed to UV light that they will happily bask in it for hours.
