Other lizards help and advice

Give a home to a unique pet

Beardies, Chameleons, Geckos, Skinks and Monitors are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to lizards. There are so many species and subspecies that it’s impossible to break them up into every single type on our website. If you’re looking for something a little more unique, our other lizards group is ideal.

What do we mean by other lizards?

Lizards are a huge group within the reptile family and include thousands of species. Lizards can be found on almost every continent, in every type of habitat in and in almost any colour. The size, lifespan, dietary habits and other preferences of a lizard can vary greatly and tends to be closely tied to their native habitat. Our other lizard category comprises all the species that do not fit into a standard category, making this the most unique and interesting group of all.

Why should I buy other lizards?

Lizards make incredible pets. Many lizards are as loving and loyal as a cat or dog and will become just as much a part of the family. However, the needs and disposition of lizards can vary greatly so it’s important that you thoroughly research the animal you’re thinking of adopting before committing to the adoption. Lizards can be fairly cheap to set up and keep or more costly depending on their feeding habits and environmental needs.

What are the main types of other lizards?

There are a wide range of lizard subspecies and types. Our Swell Superstore has a lot of species up for adoption, many rotate in and out depending on availability. To get the most up to date record of the lizards we currently have up for adoption check this page. Some of the species we often have include: Casque Head Iguana, Chinese Water Dragons and Starred Agama.

What should I look for?

If you would like to adopt one of the lizards on this page you will have to come into our Swell Superstore. At the store, we will run through a quick interview with you and ask to see a picture of the enclosure you will keep your lizard in. We reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone we do not feel is prepared to care for a lizard.
