Help and advice on shopping for: Reptile Water Dishes

Keep your reptile hydrated and hygienic

We’ve all heard of picky-eaters but some reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates can also be picky drinkers. To help you ensure that your pet gets all the water it needs to drink and bathe, we have created a reptile water dishes range featuring brands like Exo Terra, ProRep and Zoo Med.

What are reptile water dishes?

Reptile water dishes are various containers designed to hold water for your reptile to drink or bath from. Some reptiles, such as Chameleons, will only drink water that is running or trickling out, instinctually believing static water to be stagnant, so we have several small water features to create a continuous water flow to encourage hydration. Some of our water dishes are also designed to look like coconuts and other sources of natural hydration to encourage the drinking of static water.

Why should I buy reptile water dishes?

Hydration is just as important if not more important, to the health of a reptile as food and so it is key that you create a hydration solution for your pet. Some water features cost a little more than static water dishes as they help to raise the humidity within the enclosure, both will stand the test of time and help you to hydrate your pet for years to come.

What are the main types of reptile water dishes?

We sell three types of reptile water dishes; natural dishes, static dishes and feature dishes. Natural dishes are designed to look like natural sources of water such as coconuts or even some pools. Static dishes are designed to just hold still water. Feature dishes are a little more complicated as they create a flowing water source, like a waterfall or stream.

What should I look for?

Do a little research into the drinking habits of your pet before purchasing to ensure you get them the best hydration solution. Many reptiles will need their water to be treated before they drink from it as some of the chemicals present in tap water can make them ill.
