Help and advice on shopping for: Acrylic Terrariums

Small, lightweight habitats

Acrylic Terrariums are ideal for invertebrates and some other small reptiles, weighing much less than the glass equivalent, and available in a lot more sizes. You’ll be able to find everything you need for the perfect mini enclosure in our acrylic terrarium range, including products from Tarantula Room and The Spider Shop.

What are acrylic terrariums?

Acrylic terrariums are smaller enclosures made from acrylic, which is much lighter than glass or wood, making them ideal for storage on a sturdy shelf or on top of a unit. Acrylic terrariums are generally used to store invertebrates and are unlikely to hold many pieces of hardware or accessories, although some do come with built-in thermometers. Some products in this range require self-assembly.

Why should I buy acrylic terrariums?

These enclosures are sturdy and strong while offering brilliant 360-degree views of your pet. As they can sit on a shelf or cabinet, these terrariums are a great option for animal lovers with a limited amount of space. Acrylic terrariums are also quite reasonably priced and can be a great choice for invert keepers on a budget. As the enclosures tend to be quite small and can’t hold much hardware you must ensure that your pet will be comfortable in this habitat before making a purchase.

What are the main types of acrylic terrariums?

Our acrylic terrarium range is mostly broken down by size. Our smallest terrariums include a 12cm diameter cylinder enclosure while the largest run as big as a 41x41cm square container. The smallest acrylic terrariums are only suitable for invertebrates.

What should I look for?

When buying an acrylic terrarium, consider all of your pets needs and whether they will be met by the enclosure. Make sure you do plenty of research into what your pet needs in its enclosure and how much space it will be comfortable in to ensure that the enclosure you’re buying is suitable before committing to a purchase.
