January Facebook competition: Second place

2nd Place Prize: £25 Credit goes to Jonathan Rothwell for his photo of a Royal Python.

Royal Pythons, or Ball Pythons are a staple of the Reptile Trade. Available in a variety of colours and patterns, known as morphs, they will be sure to wow even those who would rather avoid snakes!

They are a more timid species, getting their name from their tendency to curl up when threatened into a tight ball.

Due to their timid nature, Royals are best kept in smaller environments or ones that are more packed with decoration as this makes them feel more secure and less threatened. Ultimately meaning that they will be happier and more content. This is very important, as they are particularly difficult feeders if their environment isn’t perfect, going for prolonged periods for what can seem like minor issues.
