Keep your pet reptile healthy

Your reptile’s health is the most important thing, so ensuring you have everything to keep them healthy is vital. Our range of reptile health products has everything you need to help your exotic pets thrive and keep skin parasites, fungal infections, internal parasites and other diseases at bay.

What are reptile health products?

Products that are commonly found in our reptile health care range include various treatments for pet reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates as well as their food and drinking water. All of these treatments help to improve the health of your animal, from giving them essential vitamins and minerals to helping them recover from common diseases and common health problems.

How do these products benefit my reptile's health?

Reptile health products are critical for all reptile keepers, these products help to ensure that your pet has everything they need to grow into strong and healthy reptiles - prolonging their body systems and promoting their happiness. Some of these treatments are designed for infected animals and reptiles with particular illnesses, in these cases, the treatments are a must to minimise the stress and suffering of your animal and reduce the need for veterinary care.

What are the main types of reptile health products?

Our reptile health range can be split into six types of products; calcium additives, food supplements, vitamins and minerals, insect food and care, reptile medication and water treatments. Calcium additives help to support bone growth in all reptiles to avoid abnormal posture and are added to your pet’s food, often as a powder. Food supplements are additional powders and edible supplements that are fed to a pet to give them a mix of vitamins or minerals they are missing in their diet. Vitamins and minerals are specific vitamin and mineral supplements that can be fed to most reptiles if it has a deficiency. Insect food and care are used on live feed to ensure it is as healthy and nutritious as possible before being fed to your pet. Reptile medication is made up of various treatment types to help your pet overcome common ailments such as fungal infections and digestive tract diseases. Finally, water treatments are used to keep water fresh for longer within your enclosure and add additional vitamins and minerals that your pet requires.

What should I look for when buying reptile health products?

The key to buying reptile health products is research. When purchasing your new pet, have your veterinarian or specialist at the pet store explain the body condition for your reptile species. As with many aspects of reptile, amphibian and invertebrate keeping, the most important thing is understanding the needs of your pet and then catering to them. Whether you're keeping turtles, tortoises, snakes or lizards, make sure your pet is getting plenty of vitamins or minerals that aren’t in its regular diet, especially if their reptile species are known to commonly have some sort of deficiency.

If you have had direct contact with a sick reptile or any affected animals, we recommend using antibacterial handwash to be safe. As not all reptiles carry zoonotic diseases so medical attention won't be necessary.
