Help and advice on shopping for: Reptile Water Treatments

Keep your reptile water clean

Reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates need clean water just like us, in fact, they actually need cleaner water. Our range of water treatments includes all of the chemical treatments needed to purify water for drinking, swimming and bathing.

What are water treatments?

Unfortunately, the chemicals we add to tap water to make it drinkable to humans also makes it dangerous for many other animals. Add in that many animals are messy at the best of times and it’s easy to see why we need to chemically purify their water. Water treatments can either make drinking water safe to consume or make larger bodies of water safe to swim in for turtles and terrapins.

Why should I buy water treatments?

Water treatments are a necessary part of reptile keeping, your pets need clean water to drink and these treatments ensure they get it. The same goes for swimming water treatments for turtles and terrapin owners. The treatments are fairly cheap and well worth the investment to ensure your pet’s health.

What are the main types of water treatments?

The two main types of water treatments we sell are drinking water treatments and swimming water treatments. Drinking water treatments are designed to purify the water that comes out of our taps and make it safe for reptiles to consume. Swimming water treatments are designed to keep water safe to swim, bathe and drink in even when animals have been in it, bringing waste and debris from other parts of the tank.

What should I look for?

Research your pet’s drinking needs and any advice on what they should and shouldn’t have in their water then try to match the chemical treatment to your pet’s needs. There may be a slight element of trial and error here, but if you take the time to perfect your pet’s water it will go a long way towards supporting their growth and development.
