What is Swell Aquarium Silver Sand?

Swell Unipac Aquarium Silver Sand is a very fine sand and the perfect addition to your aquarium. It creates a stunning natural look in any freshwater aquarium and is especially suited to plants. This a has a very silky, fine texture and a clean shimmering finish which looks simply beautiful.

Inert, this sand will not affect the pH of your aquarium and it has been prewashed to remove any contaminants. Dye and dust free, it can be used straight away, although we do recommend a thorough rinse before use.

Is silver sand good for your aquarium?

Yes, one of the key features of silver sand is that it is inert, which means that it doesn't change the water pH or hardness. The inert quality of Unipac Silver Sand makes it ideal for aquarium use, especially in aquariums containing acidophiles, fish that prefer a lower pH.

Silver sand is also very fine and soft with a minimum grain size so it doesn't harm the sensitive barbels of fish that dig and forage, such as Catfish and Loaches.
