What are the features of the Exo Terra Heat Guard Lamp Holder?

The Exo Terra Heat Guard Lamp Holder is designed to provide safe, flexible installation of heat and UV lighting in reptile enclosures. Its heat and UV resistant ceramic socket accommodates a variety of bulb types up to 160W, including daytime basking bulbs, night heat bulbs, mercury vapour bulbs, ceramic heaters and carbon heat projectors.

The protective guard measures 14cm in diameter and 20.5cm in height, accommodating bulbs up to 13.5cm long, including the lamp base. The screw‐in metal grill is secured with two Phillips screws for added security and can be easily removed for quick bulb replacement without uninstalling the entire unit. The 5mm wire spacing prevents reptiles from reaching the bulb while allowing heat, light and UV rays to pass through efficiently.

An integrated ON‐OFF switch on the extra‐long 180cm power cord provides convenient operation, while the thoughtful design allows the unit to sit flush against the terrarium top, preventing gaps where animals could become trapped. Suitable for use with reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.
