What are frozen hamsters & gerbils?

Hamsters and gerbils are small rodents that are flash-frozen to offer a filling and nutritious meal to snakes and other reptiles. Hamsters and gerbils are both quite similar and offer a lot of proteins and minerals that snakes and reptiles need to grow strong and healthy. Many reptile keepers feed Royal pythons Gerbils as they are the Royal Pythons natural prey and many Royal Pythons can be picky eaters.

Why should I buy frozen hamsters & gerbils?

Frozen hamsters & gerbils are a low-cost way to add variety to your pet’s diet. They are easy to store, in a freezer away from human food, and they simply need to be defrosted to be served to your reptile. We recommend that serving is done with feeding equipment as your pet may strike at the hamster or gerbil as soon as it sees it.

What are the main types of frozen hamsters & gerbils?

We sell three types of hamsters and gerbils; small hamsters, large hamsters and gerbils. Small hamsters are 10-30g in weight and are suitable for smaller reptiles. Large hamsters are over 30g and are suitable for medium and large reptiles. Gerbils are 26g and over, making them another good choice for medium and large reptiles.

What should I look for?

You must check whether your pet can eat hamsters & gerbils before purchasing them. If you’re not sure whether your pet will try them, we recommend buying one to try before putting a bulk order in. It’s also a good idea to look into defrosting and serving frozen food to ensure that your pet gets the best feed possible.
