Frozen Multimammates
Help and advice on shopping for: Frozen Multimammates
A slightly different treat
Multimammates are a great alternative to rats and mice. Most multimammate are around the size of a mouse but they offer the nutritional value of a rat, making them a good choice for growing or picky snakes, such as Royal pythons, and other reptiles. Our multimammate range includes several different sizes of multimammate to suit reptiles of all sizes and ages.
What are frozen multimammate?
The multimammate is a type of mouse found in Africa that has features present in both mice and rats. In many cases, multimammate mice are closer to the types of rodents snakes and other reptiles would hunt in their natural habitats, making them a good choice for picky eaters.
Why should I buy frozen multimammate?
Frozen multimammate can be stored easily, in a separate freezer to any of your food, and are pretty cheap to stock up on. They are a fantastic meal for many species, although they don’t get very big so they may be unsuitable for the largest reptiles. Multimmates must be thawed before being served and should be served using feeding equipment as many reptiles will lunge or strike at food.
What are the main types of frozen multimammate?
We sell three types of multimammate; extra large, large and small. Each size is packed in smaller sets, for feeding a single reptile, and larger sets, perfect for feeding multiple reptiles. You should try to match the size of the multimammate to the size of your pet as food that is too large or small may get left.
What should I look for?
It’s important to check whether your pet can eat multimammate and if they are likely to enjoy it. If you’re unsure we recommend buying a couple to try before buying in bulk. We also recommend researching thawing and serving frozen multimammate to ensure your pet gets the best meal possible.
