Help and advice on shopping for: Frozen Rabbits

A python and anaconda favourite

Larger snakes and reptiles will often prey upon rabbits in the wild and will instinctively eat them in captivity, making them a great choice for fussy eaters. Our range of frozen rabbits includes specimens of various sizes for reptiles at different stages in their lifecycle.

What are frozen rabbits?

Frozen rabbits are farm-bred rabbits that have been flash-frozen at various stages in life to be used as food for large snakes and other reptiles. Rabbits contain a lot of protein and essential nutrients making them the perfect meal for many growing reptiles. You can also use a frozen rabbit to scent other food to encourage a feed if you have a picky eater to contend with.

Why should I buy frozen rabbits?

Our frozen rabbit range is well-suited to meeting the needs of large snakes and reptiles like monitors or bearded dragons. As they are frozen they just need to be stored in a freezer, away from your regular food, making them easy to stock up on. Serving is simple as well, just defrost the rabbit and serve it with feeding tools as your reptile is likely to strike or lunge at the sight of the food.

What are the main types of frozen rabbits?

We sell rabbits in four different sizes from small specimens under 500g up to extra large ones at 2kg each. Our large rabbits are the largest frozen food we sell and can be used to feed the biggest of reptiles. The size of the rabbit you require and the number you should buy will depend on the size of your pet and your storage options.

What should I look for?

Ensure that your pet is capable of eating rabbits and is likely to want one. If you are uncertain about whether your pet will go for the rabbit, we recommend buying one to try before making a bulk buy order. We also suggest reading up on thawing and serving to ensure your pet gets the best feed that can.
