What is a Peace lily?
A Peace lily, also known as Spathiphyllum or White sails, is a tropical plant from South America and South-East Asia. They are very popular amongst exotic gardeners as they are quite easy to care for and have an elegant appearance. As a lover of humidity and heat, Peace lilies are naturally at home in a terrarium and complement both Dart frogs and Crested geckos well.
How do you keep a Peace lily?
Keeping a Peace lily is quite straightforward. They are resilient to water loss, so you can wait until they start to droop to water them without any harm coming to the plant. They like medium heat and indirect light, so be sure to avoid placing them directly under a heat bulb. If you’re not placing your Peace lily in a terrarium, ensure that it is kept away from windows, doors and drafts.
What is a Peace lily good for?
Peace lilies make incredible decorations in any terrarium or vivarium, their stark white flowers add light and naturally draw the eye. Peace lilies can also be climbed by small frogs and offer limited shade for lizards.
