Planters
Help and advice on shopping for: Planters
Plant and protect terrarium plants
Terrariums are the ideal place to plant up all sorts of plant species, but they can easily get uprooted or attacked by some reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. To help protect your plants so they can co-exist with your pets we’ve created a range of planters including products from leading brands like Lucky Reptile and Zoo Med.
What are planters?
Planters are essentially vessels designed to hold plants, they range in size and shape but their main purpose is to hold soil in place and protect the plant itself. Some planters are designed to blend in seamlessly with the decor of your enclosure, while others are more artificial and stick out a little. Live plants have lots of benefits for your pets and make a fantastic addition to any terrarium.
Why should I buy planters?
If you want to grow plants alongside more destructive animals, planters are a necessity. Durable, they can be reused for multiple plants and can even sometimes be used as decoration without any plants. The planters range in price from fairly cheap to a little more pricey, depending on durability and features.
What are the main types of planters?
Each planter does a slightly different job, depending on the size of the planter and its design. A planter’s size dictates the number of plants that can be grown within it, while its design is how well it blends into its surroundings. Most planter’s size and design are self-evident or found in their specs.
What should I look for?
When shopping for planters, it’s really a case of personal choice. However, you might want to think about buying some other decorations, like natural decor or artificial decor, to help blend them into your enclosure.
