Moisture and humidity are incredibly important for Rainforest Reptiles, with regular large amounts of daily rainfall in their natural habitat, things get pretty hot and wet in the environment they evolved in, and a big part of replicating their natural habitat is choosing an appropriate substrate.

Rainforest substrate tend to hold more moisture from your hand-sprayed or automated humidity systems, releasing it slowly to maintain that damp feel that your reptile needs to thrive. They decay slowing over time and bind waste together for easy disposal, reducing the chance of mould developing providing there is adequate ventilation.
