What are Giant mealworms?

Giant mealworms are a great treat in a reptiles or amphibians diet. Giant mealworms are ideal for Bearded dragons, Leopard geckos, Water dragons, Iguanas, and Chameleons as well as wild birds, frogs and even small carnivorous mammals. Large mealworms are rich in protein, providing a much-needed nutritious meal for your reptile pets. However, Giant mealworms also have a high fat content, so they shouldn't be used as a staple food as they can cause your reptile to rapidly gain weight. 

How long do Giant mealworms live?

Our Giant mealworms are sent directly from the ethical conditions of our livefood suppliers as soon as they mature to anywhere in the United Kingdom. When kept in cool conditions, the Giant mealworms should last between one and two months before becoming a large beetle. The beetle can still be used as live food in lizard setups and snake setups, however, some fussy eaters might turn up their noses.

What is the difference between mealworms and giant mealworms?

Giant mealworms are the same species as regular Mealworms, however, they have been kept in conditions to prolong their metamorphosis, allowing them to grow larger in their larvae form. Giant mealworms are particularly good for feeding larger reptiles or sick small reptiles.
