Swell Tortoise Starter Kit - Platinum

This kit comes with the larger more expansive VivExotic Deluxe Tortoise Table, which can come with a matching cabinet if required. This provides plenty of space for your tortoise to move around freely, and ensure they have plenty of enrichment as well.. In this kit we have provided everything you need to get you started, though decoration does tend to be a personal choice, and more can always be added.

What's in the kit?

The kit comes with the VivExotic Deluxe Tortoise Table, which comes in Oak, and measures 115 x 61 x 27.5cm (45" x 24" x 11"). This provides space for your tortoise to move efficiently, and can be combined with the matching cabinet for a discounted price. There is an adjustable light bracket and clamp lamp holder, to hold the mercury vapour bulb. Mercury Vapour Bulbs offer a 3-in-1 service of heat, light and UVB in one bulb, which is perfect for this set up, though does mean that it cannot be used on a thermostat, as the UVB would also be restricted. Due to this, it is essential that the bulb is placed at the right height to get the correct temperature, and the adjustable light bracket ensures this is possible. The bulb should ideally be around 8 - 16" away from the shell of your tortoise, so adjust the height to get the right temperature and then check the distance is within range for optimum UV levels. There is an easy to use infrared thermometer for accurate and easy readings of the temperature, so you can be sure it is set correctly.

For substrate, we have included tortoise specific bedding, which is safe and easy to clean, which can be done with spot cleaning the dirty areas regularly, using the sand scoop we have included, and only fully emptied and disinfected periodically, using our top selling disinfectant that we have provided. This substrate is ideal for tortoises to dig and safely live in, containing small calcium particles so that its safe if ingested. There is also a feeding dish and flat water bowl to provide easy access in and out for your pet, as tortoises need to be able to walk into their dishes. We have also included two hides (for each end of the table) and also a small plant to provide a little decoration and coverage, though more will be required, especially to allow your tortoise to feel more settled in the table. We have include a tub of pure Calcium Dust as well as a multivitamin supplement, to ensure your tortoise is in the best of health at all times. There is also a Tortoise Food Growing Kit, so you can provide the perfect varied diet for your tortoise, along with two different flower based food toppers, so you can try different products to see which works best for your tortoise.
